1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Loved Ones Found mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Loved Ones Found reserves the right to update these Terms at any time, with notice provided via the App or email.

2. Purpose of the App

Loved Ones Found is designed to help locate missing persons and reunite them with their loved ones. Users may:

• Create posts to report a missing loved one.
• Post as a missing person seeking to reconnect with family or friends.
• Share information about a sighted person with their consent to aid in reuniting them with their loved ones.

3. User Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent. By using the App, you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. User Responsibilities

• Accuracy and Consent: You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide is accurate and, where applicable, obtained with the consent of the individual being posted about (e.g., for "I have seen" posts). You must check the box confirming liability for the information provided.
• Security Questions: To facilitate safe connections, users posting as or for a missing person must provide security questions and answers (e.g., "What is my pet’s name?"). These ensure only authorized individuals can connect. You are responsible for safeguarding your answers.
• Safe Connections: When connecting with others, meet in public places and avoid sharing sensitive personal information. Loved Ones Found is not responsible for interactions outside the App.
• Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to:
  • Post false, misleading, or harmful content.
  • Use the App for illegal activities, harassment, or impersonation.
  • Share personal contact information (e.g., addresses, phone numbers) in public posts to prevent misuse, such as ransom requests.
  • Violate the privacy or rights of others.

5. Content Ownership and Use

• User-Generated Content: You retain ownership of the content you post (e.g., photos, descriptions). By posting, you grant Loved Ones Found a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and store this content solely for the purpose of operating the App.
• Content Moderation: Loved Ones Found reserves the right to remove or suspend any post that violates these Terms or is deemed harmful, including fake or misleading posts.

6. Reporting and Safety

• Reporting Accounts: Users can report suspicious accounts or posts via the App’s reporting feature. Loved Ones Found will review and take appropriate action, which may include account suspension.
• Safety Recommendations: Users are encouraged to:
  • Meet in public places for any in-person connections.
  • Verify identities using security questions before sharing information.
  • Exercise caution to avoid scams or misuse.

7. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify Loved Ones Found immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. Security questions and answers are used to verify connections. Variations in answers (e.g., "LA" vs. "Los Angeles") may be accepted if reasonably close, as determined by the App’s algorithm. Users may also provide multiple answer variations for flexibility.

8. Termination

Loved Ones Found may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, posting inappropriate content, or engaging in harmful behavior. You may terminate your account via the Settings menu.

9. Limitation of Liability

Loved Ones Found is not liable for:

• The accuracy or outcome of information posted on the App.
• Interactions or connections made outside the App.
• Any damages resulting from misuse of the App or reliance on its content.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
